Private & Secluded Beach

Parson’s Bay Beach Bermuda is located on south Ireland Island, 2.2 miles northeast of Somerset Island and a mile and a half away from Somerset Village to the southwest. The beach is fairly private and secluded being surrounded by tropical foliage and small rock formations. It is typically visited by locals and remains fairly uncrowded.

This white sand beach is small and the water is clear and shallow, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The beach is accessible by foot, scooter, or bicycle but there are no local buses that stop at Parson’s Bay. Public restrooms are not available and no lifeguards are stationed at Parson’s Bay, so this may not be the best beach choice for families with children. There are no concession stands available at the beach.

Explore Art Galleries at Parson’s Bay Beach Bermuda

There are three art galleries about a mile from Parson’s Bay including the Lisa-Anne Rego Gallery, Dockyard Glasswork, and the Bermuda Arts Centre at Dockyard. There is also a movie theatre called Neptune Cinema just over a mile from the beach. The Bermuda Maritime Museum is located just over a mile to the northeast of Parson’s Bay and features exhibits such as the history of the slave trade and the tourism industry. The museum is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and costs $10 for adults, $5 for children, and $8 for seniors. The Commissioner’s House is a historical site of interest close to the museum. The one-road Somerset Village is just a mile and a half away and features seven retail shops. It is an especially active part of Bermuda and worth exploring.

There are several restaurants within about a mile of Parson’s Bay including Freeport Seafood Restaurant, Café Amici, the Dockyard Pastry Shop, Bone Fish, Frog & Onion, and Hammerhead’s Bar & Grill. Freeport Seafood Restaurants serves an eclectic menu featuring the finest seafood available as well as sushi. Café Amici serves Italian cuisine such as pizza, pasta, ravioli, and risotto. Bone Fish and Hammerhead’s Bar & Grill both are informal restaurants serving Caribbean fare. The Frog & Onion is an informal pub that serves British and European cuisine.

The two closest hotels to Parson’s Bay Beach Bermuda are the Corals, 1.2 miles southwest of the beach, and Cambridge Beaches Resort, one and a half miles west of Parson’s Bay. The Corals is a tiny renovated farmhouse with just two guest units. If one wants to stay at this unique property, reservations should be made well in advance. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast and complimentary high-speed internet access. The guestrooms have private baths and a kitchenette.
