Windsor Beach Bermuda – Large & Popular Beach

Windsor Beach is located on the southeast coast of Bermuda in St. George’s Parish, 3.5 miles south of St. George. The beach is quite large and one of the most popular in Bermuda, however, it doesn’t have a crowded feel due to its spaciousness. The beach can be accessed via a long set of stairs down from Tucker’s Town Road. There are no public restrooms available at Windsor Beach Bermuda, nor are there lifeguards stationed so families with small children may wish to choose another beach to visit. There are no concessions available at the beach.

Closest Attractions Of Windsor Beach Bermuda

Castle Island is a historical site and the closest attraction to Windsor Beach at three-quarters of a mile away to the northeast. Castle Island has a castle on it that was used as a defensive position when protecting Castle Harbor in 1614 when it assisted to repel an attack by the Spanish Navy. The fort still stands but is mostly in ruins. Castle Island consists of mostly overgrown grass so is easy to explore.

There are two golf courses within a mile of Windsor Beach: Mid Ocean Golf Club and Tucker’s Point. Mid Ocean Golf Club is private and costs $250 to play all 18 holes. Non-members are welcome on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with advance booking. The course was founded in 1921 and celebrities such as Babe Ruth, Winston Churchill, and several United States Presidents. Tucker’s Point was built in 1932 and features a practice putting green. It costs $250 for non-members to play all 18 holes.

There are four restaurants within two miles of Windsor Beach, the closest being The Point Restaurant and Tucker’s Point Bar both about a mile west of the beach. The Point Restaurant serves eclectic fare and is a fine dining establishment. Two other nearby restaurants include Tom Moore’s Tavern and Café Boulevard.

Tom Moore’s Tavern is the oldest restaurant on the island and started its life as a private residence in 1652. The restaurant is open for dinner only and specializes in seafood dishes with a Continental twist. Tom Moore’s Tavern offers a three course meal of appetizer, soup and salad, and main dish. Guests can choose from several seafood options, chicken, roasted quail, and pork tenderloin as their main dish.

The closest hotel to Windsor Beach is the Mid Ocean Club, a half mile to the west-southwest. The Mid Ocean Club was established in 1951 as a private members club and is open to members and their guests. The club features one of the top rated golf courses in the world which also has a putting green and driving range. In addition, the resort is home to two restaurants.
