Perfect For Swimming & Snorkeling

Grape Bay Beach is located on the southeast coast of Bermuda in Paget Parish, a mile and a half southeast of Hamilton. The beach is long with white sand and shallow, calm, clear water perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The beach has light foliage giving a bit of a sense of privacy. Elbow Beach is connected to Grape Bay Beach Bermuda at its southernmost point and at the northern end is a small hotel.

Grape Bay Beach is visited mostly by locals and is rarely crowded, however during the popular tourist season it can be busy as there are a number of nearby hotels. There are no public restrooms at this beach nor are lifeguards stationed, however there is an on-site snack bar and mobile vendors who also set up at the beach.

Explore Art Galleries & Historical Site at Grape Bay Beach Bermuda

There are three nearby art galleries to Grape Bay Beach: Maria Ever’s Smith Gallery which is a third of a mile away to the west, Desmond Fountain Gallery just over a half mile to the southwest, and Picturesque Gallery located a mile to the northwest. The Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art is an art museum within easy walking distance of Grape Bay Beach less than a mile away.

Waterville House is a historical site less than a mile away to the north. The house was built in 1725 and is currently the home of the Bermuda National Trust. Touring the Waterville House shows visitors what life on Bermuda was like for the early settlers. The house can be toured from nine a.m. to five p.m. Monday through Friday and admission is free.

There is a variety of restaurants located within a mile of Grape Bay Beach. From nearest to farthest, these include Paraquet Restaurant & Take Out, The Ice Queen, Café Coco, Lido Restaurant, Seahorse Grill, Blue Point Restaurant, Sea Breeze, Mickey’s Bistro & Bar, Harbourfront, Buzz Dockyard, Rosa’s Cantina, and Shine’s House of Music and Entertainment. Café Coco is a fine dining Caribbean cuisine restaurant. Lido Restaurant and Mickey’s Bistro & Bar serve Mediterranean cuisine. Harbourfront serves Italian fare, Buzz Dockyard serves American food, and Rosa’s Cantina serves Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine.

Since Grape Bay Beach is in a fairly popular vacation area, there are several nearby hotels. The two closest are Dawkins Manor and Paraquet Guest Apartments, both less than a half mile away from the beach. Dawkins Manor is a small property with just eight guestrooms. The property has a freshwater pool and a tropical garden. Paraquet Guest Apartments has 13 guest units, with nine efficiency units, three non-efficiency units, and one two bedroom unit. All of the units have refrigerators.

For those visitors looking for more of a resort experience, Coco Reef Resort Bermuda is just a half mile to the southwest and features 129 guestrooms. Each room has an ocean view. Guests can participate in two meal plans: the Bermuda Plan with breakfast and afternoon tea or the Modified American Plan with breakfast, afternoon tea, and a gourmet dinner. The resort also has two on-site restaurants.
